Bay Area Community Exchange Timebank

Tampa Bay Time Bank is a community skills exchange, also known as a “time bank.” Time banking is a way to exchange services as a complement to the cash economy. In Tampa Bay Time Bank we trade skills gained from work, education, life experience, hobbies, and volunteering, while making friends and building community. Time banking is egalitarian. All activities are valued, and all activities are valued equally. One hour equals one hour. Each hour of work is equal to every other, regardless of the activity. We earn credit by doing something for another member, then we can use the credit by having any other member do something for us.

The Time Bank of the Rockies (TBR) develops networks of shared time between our members. We connect people and organizations in new ways to facilitate non-money-based exchanges of resources and services. Our Time Bank community is located in beautiful Montrose, Colorado, serving members throughout Montrose, San Miguel, Ouray, and Delta Counties. The Silver Spring Timebank (SSTB) is a community association that offers its members both the chance to share their time and talents and to receive the benefits of others’ time and talents. Launched in January 2015, the SSTB believes that every person has talents, can contribute to building a better community and is entitled to an opportunity to give and get respect. Equality is at the heart of all we do. An hour is an hour, regardless of the service. All people are valued equally. All work is valued equally. We are always looking for timebank members to serve on our various leadership teams. It’s a great way to help grow the timebank AND earn timebank hours at the same time.

hOurworld is an international network of communities whose members volunteer their time to help one another. Our mission is to promote social justice and strengthen communities by facilitating the exchange of services through time banking.

TimeBanks USA is a non-profit organization that supports and nurtures a network of time banks across the United States and the world. We believe that everyone has something to contribute and that by sharing our time and talents, we can build stronger, more resilient communities.

Timebanking UK is the national charity that supports the development of timebanking across the United Kingdom. We work with local organizations to set up and run time banks, providing resources, training, and a sense of community for timebankers nationwide.
